Not every morning we wake up to such a start of the day, with my bags ready to get into the Rosa bus. On this very morning, I get introduced to this talk slightly masculine dark guy. I have never seen or heard of him before. But from the look of things, he is a celeb. Most people know him, I question myself; who might this guy be? I stand a far and watch as he interacts with others, and guess what? In a group of five right in front of where I stood basking and waiting for our clients, he is the story teller, aaah, he is talkative- resonating thoughts in my mind.

Someone notices my calm and walks straight towards me not alone, but with him. A simple introduction would do and we exchange faces. Ann meet Brent…our photographer for the day. After few minutes, they left and I start receiving calls from people asking where we’ve parked and gave directions to a few. I instantly open my Instagram app and looked up for brent_photography. Let me say, from the shots to the skills, you do not need to be told, HE IS A GURU. I can attest, that is why most people know him. You gotta be good at what you do!

Before everyone gets here, we need to take some shots of our beautiful city. The sun is out but we are calm our destination is 2hrs away. The Masai Market area is a buzz of activities, for only one reason…Guess which one? Kenyans love travelling.

The long awaited day is here, we are heading to Kereita Forest Adventure. What have you heard about this place? Well, we set out on our journey to Limuru at around 9am. The slow music in the bus, people chatting here and there. The journey is a smooth one and people’s faces can show some enthusiasm hoping to have a day full of fun. Not even taking note of time, we are already at the view point Photogenic is what they call people who love photos, maybe you are one of them. You do not need to struggle trying to figure out the pose. Everything flows and Brent is on his Canon EOS 5D Mark IV 24-105mm F/4L IS II USM Lens 30.4MP DSLR Camera Black ready to capture. Don’t mind how I knew the specs, it is just a perfect baby a guy can be holding and loving. Every adventure or safari always has a new experience. Do you know that the magnificent view of the Great Rift Valley this side is different compared to Mai Mahiu side? You need to #CreateUnforgettableMemories.

We have a couple of photos taken at this place for around 10 minutes. We continue to head towards The Forest. Crossing through he planted forest we get to the first armed KWS forest Service Gate. The KWS officers carry out a head count and register in their records. We are allowed in after making the KWS entry fees charges. The weather has changed, it is now cold and windy. After one kilometer, we arrive at our destination. Our happy clients alight and we do the temperature checks, sanitizing before going in. The staff are welcoming and we are delighted to such a warm welcome.

I had not mentioned of our amazing team building facilitator, Mr. Solomon. His creativity is topnotch. To cheer up the day, we begin with easy team building activities. Let me show you how creative and keen individuals were so as to miss a point. Concentration and coordination are most important at this time. Have you ever participated in any team building activities? You may also stand out as a winner.

We were all waiting for the prime time to take part in the zip lining which was scheduled for 1030hrs.and the good thing is, we had a chance to take part in the 6-line zip lining, you must be an adrenaline junkie to do this. This zip line is the longest in east and central Africa. It is a 24km slide across the forest and above the tallest trees. The lines are safe and there is always a pre-test before taking part in the fun. You are taught on basics and it helps to build your courage before facing the mountain.

It’s time to get dressed and ready. Ensure you sign the indemnity form for your safety and declaring of responsibility. Dress up in the zip lining attire, look for gloves and assemble at the training area. The experts to show us how to break, reduce speed and how to save yourself in case you do not get to the end. The eager faces are now keenly observing the dos and don’ts. The first group heads out and begins their 6-line zip line adventures. They are excited and Mr. Brent is ready for those amazing shots that will trend #photomoto. The forest is a hub of various activities and so the second group heads to the Archery Section.

I hear men say, that girls can shoot their shot. Is this where you get that training to aim at your desired target? Let’s see about it. We found two lads expecting us. Archery is a game of arrows, where a shooter targets an eye on a board. This does not have much to get dressed in. You only need a pad that you place on you less dominant arm to prevent the rubber on the bow from hitting your arm. Archery was a fighting skill used years ago but evolution resulted to it being done for fun. We went through the key points on aiming and shooting. Afterwards the exercise began. Aaaah, I see the lady has got some nice shots, points tallied and daaaamn! man down!

You can also take part in paint balling? This actually feels like featuring a real action movie. Paintball is a game that you shoot targets with balls filled with paint. Disclaimer: Snipper skills needed. But do not worry, we are all beginners at some level and the Kereita Staff are more than willing to help you out. Capture your #PhotoOfTheDay. She is doing it well.

Time flies! It is already lunch time and we settle at the restaurant ready to munch. Here is our delicious meal. French fries + Chicken +Vegies simple and sumptuous. Time for the chit chat as people are having their lunch.

Remember our team building facilitator? He is ready to take us for a small hike; the whole team agrees. From the look, it is still early, we can do it. We head out to the bush with our stomachs full, you tell me, is it advisable to hike after food? We are here for fun and to utilize the time we have in the Forest. Such an amazing waterfall hunting experience. The views are amazing and we eventually get to the waterfall. Take some rest and pictures. After a few minutes we are back to our starting point.

Have we overstayed our stay? I think we should leave but no, horseback riding! I just shouted and everyone turned towards me. Joshua a horseback trainer whispers to me, it is called Equestrianism. Oooh, I learnt a new word; Equestrianism- this is horseback riding. I know you have learnt it after reading this blog. Ha-ha…For the feeling of relaxation, a group of our clients decided to horse riding for a few minutes while the other groups heads to the restaurant for cake cutting.

It’s evening and we’ve got a cake to cut for September Babies. One round table and we sing out the birthday song as she shyly cut the cake and shared amongst us. Nothing much follows, it is already 6pm

We head out to the bus and get ready to begin our journey back to Nairobi. Everyone is tired but we gotta play one or two games in the bus and the driver is keenly listening to the Manchester United game that is on the 46th minute. I do not understand why guys love football that much, but anyway, the “femos” in this particular trip were more than “meos”. Ladies love travelling

After a few minutes we are in CBD. We are back like we never left! We bid goodbyes, till next time…Adios
